Dan and Amy Novack

Gray nomads-this is our wish, to shuffle off onto the road, to explore, to have "no where to be, no one to become, and nothing to do" as Dan's favorite yoga teacher says at the end of yoga classes.  

How did we get here?  We both love to travel, I have had a lifetime of this, and no matter how much I get, the itch returns to get on the road more and more quickly.  Currently we reside in an amazingly beautiful part of Monmouth County in New Jersey, surrounded by natural beauty, beaches, local farms, and amazing people.

On a trip to Australia we encountered this term "gray nomad" for the first time.....my daughter and her hubby mentioned it when I noticed all the campers around...."this is what people do when they retire here".....yes. yes! my heart said.  This, this is what we need! As our trip continued up the coast, and onto Magnetic Island (truly one of my favorite places in the world) I would tell people this, I am going to grow up to be a gray nomad!  Nope nope nope, you are too young, not gray enough!  Well the gray is coming in (and trust me I have thought of stripping and coloring it gray!), our four kids have grown up and fled the nest. We are rapidly approaching the stage of life Hindus/Yogis refer to as  Sannyasa-the wandering recluse.  The wandering and search for meaning and connection to spirit has always called me.  

Our plan is to start with the 50 states we have yet to see, in a nice RV with our traveling companions Charlie and Cat (pictured above), we will be updating this blog as we go....there will be future travels to Australia for the 3 months we can get a tourist visa (Charlie and Cat will skip this trip due to the quarantine requirement), more Europe, and Asia will follow (Charlie and Cat are hard at work studying French so they can meet new friends).

My background is in the hospitality industry and the healing arts, I have taught yoga for 15 years, and have a sister tarot business which can come with us anywhere - I offer distance readings.

Dan’s background is in the automotive business which will come in handy on the road!
